A quick "hello" to let you all know that we are here at our lovely hotel in Tel Aviv and had a very smooth trip! The wifi has been patchy, which means this will be a short post. The flight was very smooth and even got in early! Our connection in Vienna was smooth, and all was well upon arrival here in Tel Aviv and connecting with our tour company. Our guide, Lior, has welcomed us warmly and promises to teach us a lot! The weather is lovely--was around 70 degrees when we arrived--and our hotel is near the beach so we've been able to take some nice strolls this evening. Of course we're all exhausted and ready to sleep before launching into a busy day tomorrow, when we're off to our first day of sight-seeing!
The group enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner here at the hotel tonight (fresh hummous, salmon, delicious sweets...you name it!), and have wasted no time getting to know each other and enjoying ourselves :) It's going to be a great week! Stay tuned for more updates and reflections...there are likely to be some fun and exciting stories, but also some fascinating spiritual insights we will learn as we take this pilgrimage. Thanks for thinking of us, following the blog and praying for us, and we look forward to sharing more soon! We'll be sure to snag a different person to post each day so you get a different flavor of everyone's experiences. We'll also plan to upload and post pictures.

so glad to hear you are there safe and sound! i will be following your trip closely each day. My husband and i did this exact same trip 3 years ago to the DAY with our church, First Presbyterian, Spartanburg, SC! so thrilled for all of you!
